Nablus soap is a revered product made from a simple yet powerful blend of olive oil, water, and lye, crafted through a traditional hot-cooked process that has been perfected over 4,500 years, originating in ancient Syria and Iraq. This soap is celebrated for its purity and medicinal properties, producing a smooth lather that cleanses without leaving any residue. Its mild yet effective formula has been prescribed in the Mediterranean for a variety of skin conditions, including eczema, psoriasis, and acne. Historically, Nablus soap laid the foundation for many well-known European soaps, like those from Castile and Marseilles, yet it remains distinguished as the original and superior precursor, renowned for its quality and health benefits for the skin. The soap we sell as part of our fundraiser is sourced from the West Bank by the Palestinian Soap Cooperative in Berkeley, CA.
