Suds4Palestine is a grassroots initiative dedicated to supporting Palestinians in Gaza, as they work to survive and rebuild amidst ongoing Israeli aggressions. Over the past year, many Palestinians in Gaza have lost their homes, livelihoods, and possessions. By now, many have faced not one but multiple displacements. To make matters worse, import and aid restrictions have now led to dramatic increases in daily expenses. Today, 96% of Gaza's 2.15 million residents are food insecure.
Recently, many Palestinians have turned to online fundraising as a lifeline to combat the artificial scarcity imposed by Israel. After connecting with several Palestinians in Gaza and recognizing the immense need, we felt compelled to act. We created Suds4Palestine to provide sustained humanitarian support through both online and community-based fundraising initiatives.
We partner with the Palestinian Soap Cooperative, a Palestinian and American member-owned company, to offer The Camel (al-Jamal; الجمل) brand soap bars. Sourced directly from the Al-Shakaa Soap Factory located in Nablus, in the occupied West Bank, these soap bars are a testament to the endurance of Palestinian tradition, culture, and craftsmanship amid years of displacement, genocide, and violence.
